Important forms and deadlines

NOTE: The 2024-2025 FAFSA release is delayed and will become available by Dec. 31, 2023, as announced by the U.S. Department of Education. This is due to the extensive system changes. This change is only temporary for the 2024-2025 academic year to accommodate the extensive work required to overhaul the systems used to award federal student aid. In the 2025-2026 aid year, the FAFSA will be available on Oct. 1, as usual.

Use the resources below to support your FAFSA filing:
To receive a financial aid package you must be accepted for admission and file the appropriate financial aid forms. We recommend families complete the FAFSA, which also uses the IRS Data Retrieval Tool (DRT), as soon as possible. We are working diligently to provide you a timely and accurate financial aid award.

When you apply for financial aid, the following forms should be filed by February 1 to ensure maximum award consideration:

  • Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The St. Bonaventure Federal School code for the FAFSA is 002817. Use estimated income figures, if necessary, to meet the deadline. FAFSA forms are available in most high school guidance offices, or by calling the financial aid office. If you wish to file the FAFSA electronically, visit their website
  • New York state residents who file the FAFSA electronically will be directed to the link for the TAP Application (TAP on the Web) when they reach the confirmation page of the FAFSA. The application must be completed, signed and returned to NYS HESC. The State Code for St. Bonaventure University is 0695. If you wish to file the TAP application (TAP on the Web), please visit their website
